Horizon Records was founded in 1962 by Dave Hubert. Horizon’s early focus was on folk and blues music. During the 1970s, Horizon became a subsidiary imprint of A&M Records, specializing in jazz and pop. The label was known for producing albums with high-quality audio and packaging. By 1980, the label had faded away. Today, Horizon’s jazz catalog is managed by Verve Records. Notable artists: Dave Brubeck, Ornette Coleman, Paul Desmond, Charlie Haden, Jim Hall, and more.
