Founded in New York City by Orrin Keepnews and Bill Grauer, Jr. in 1953, Riverside Records played an important role in jazz recordings in the 1950s and 60s. Keepnews produced sessions and wrote liner notes for some of the most iconic recordings in jazz. Notable artists: Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderly, and many more.
