Applause Records was formed in the early 1980s and is primarily known for re-issuing difficult-to-find jazz music. In particular, a number of Blue Note recordings were re-issued with new covers. Notable artists: Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Jimmy Smith, McCoy Tyner, Stanley Turrentine, and more.
