Description
Kent Records, an iconic blues and R&B label, was founded in 1958 in Los Angeles by the Bihari brothers. Kent was the follow-up to Modern Records, which ceased operations that same year. It was initially known for its single releases by B.B. King, soon after releasing albums by important artists like Ike and Tina Turner through the early 1970s. Kent Records was acquired by Ace Records in England. Notable artists: B.B. King, Elmore James, Lowell Fulson, and Johnny Otis.
