Barrelhouse Records was launched by George Paulus in 1974 as a platform for blues and rockabilly artists. Paulus aimed to showcase the rich musical heritage of these genres and the raw energy and soulful storytelling inherent in them. The label’s releases captured the essence of live performances, juke joints, and the vibrant Chicago blues scene. While Barrelhouse is now defunct, its impact on the music world endures, and its recordings remain cherished by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
